cannot connect to net

i am not able to connect to LAN connection even my IP
address, DNS settings, etc...are correct. i can only see
the sent bytes increasing but the received are not
increasing. my cable connectionis good i have checked it.
hope any one replies

sounds like hardware issue. check the nic and hub/switch settings.
