I had been printing to a network printer fine, then added a diff network
printer as well. Since then I lost connection to the original printer. When
I try to add it, I get 'windows cannot connect to the printer. Operation
could not be completed'. I can connect to any other printers and others can
connect to the same printer fine. What have I done?

We need more details on how the networked printer is connected onto the
network!

Is it directly connected to a network cable, using a print server device?

Is it a shared printer off another Windows PC? Is this PC using Windows XP?
Has Service Pack 2 been installed on this PC?
If Yes, then Service Pack 2 automatically starts up the Windows
Firewall system. You will need to configure it to allow 'File/Print
sharing'.

Its connected via a print server.

Running XP sp1

I did manage to get around it by changing the driver to a similar one but
not the exact model... any ideas why this would happen? I rebuilt the
machine and it was fine, installed another printer and it somehow corrupts
the first one
