As a suggestion, you should remove all the CD CDR CDRW devices in the then
disconnect the cables and then move them and set jumpers and then reboot and
let the computer find your devices.
Be advised that some drivers are harder to remove for CDR drives. You may
have to edit the Registry because XP uses DMA and port addresses to transfer
the data and it writes things about this into the Registry. Roxio Easy CD
is bad about this.
When you click on the properties of the devices, in the device manager,
does it give you an error number?
If it does look up the error in the microsoft knowledge database.
