Hi,

I am trying to connect a network drive
to \\hb-laptop\c$ in my home network
to access all files on the latop.

I connect using a diffeerent user name,
ie a user that is administrator on remote XP machine.
I tried connecting as hb, hb-laptop\hb and
\\hb-laptop\hb, but i cannot get any access.
I get complaints about user name or password.

Any tips would be appreciated

BR

Henrik

yeah, the user im trying to connect as is administrator.

I tried to connect to other shared folders as well besides
from c$, but in that case it seems that no matter what i
type for user and password, i get logged in as guest
and cannot view everything...

If no user is able to connect, make sure that you have the
Client for Microsoft networks and File and Printer sharing
enabled on the PC that you are trying to connnect to.

I am assuming that you are able to ping the client PC

Yes I can ping and file & printersharing is Enabled

Actually I can map a network drive to the laptop and
copy almost all files, but not the ones that Laptop\Guest
does not have acces to, so I need to get administrator
access, but it seems I get connected as guest no matter what i
try to connect as
