I am sorry this is so long winded, but:
I am having some trouble setting up a network between my two computers. The first computer is a laptop runing XP that connects directly to the internet with a wireless usb adapter. The second computer, a PC, is also running XP. It does not connect directly to the internet, but I would like it to connect through my laptop.
I ran the Network Wizard initially, and everything seemed to be fine. I could share files on both computers and connect to the internet. That was true until I realized that the internet connection on both computers only worked for a few minutes. After that I couldn't conntect at all on either computer.
From that point, I deleted the bridge on both computers thinking that I could rerun the wizard to hopefully fix the problem. This is where my real troubles really began.
I ran the wizard again, on the laptop first since it has the internet connection, and I recieved an error saying that the wizard "cannot complete the network wizard" but that I could try it on my own. I have run it again and again, trying different options, nothing works. I have run wizard on my PC, and can share files between the two computers, but still no internet on the PC.
I tried a number of other alternatives like making sure the internet firewall was unchecked, but still nothing.
I also tried to share the connection without using the wizard by selecting "allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection" under the advanced tab on the wireless network connection properties. When I do this I get an error saying that an error occured because "a LAN connection is already configured with the IP address that is required for automatic IP addressing".
I don't know what else to do. Please help, and of course, thank you in advance.
