If Suzanne's suggestion doesn't lead to a solution... how did you clear all
formatting in the paragraph?
Select the two words and try clicking the Clear Formatting tool in the Font
section of the Home ribbon tab (unless this is what you already did).
If this and Suzanne's suggestion don't lead to a solution, if you email a
sample Word document that demonstrates the problem, I'd be happy to take a
look to see if I can identify the culprit. Send to herb at herbtyson dot
