Since running SPYBOT to remove unwanted spyware and re-booting my pc, I can
no longer set my wallpaper to anything - no .jpg's or even the standard
Windows list. All i get is the background colour now. However when I press
CTRL-ALT-DEL or when the pc re-boots my normal background .jpg (of my garden)
is there and then is hidden once the pc is fully running.

Why is this and how can I fix it?

Sound like the "Smitfraud" Virus has infected your system.
Try running a good Virus Scan. (Trendmicro, AVG, AVAST)
..
Norton, McAfee couldn't catch a f*rt in the Wind..

Also try running Spybot Search & Destroy to find Spyware / Malware.

Hello;
AVG will probably work best if you uninstall your old Anti-Virus program.
I have used AVG Anti-Virus for years, with no problems.

LS,

Have tried running AVG and MicroTrend PC-cillin and have not found this
virus. Can I delete the affected file(s) and re-install?

Cheers
