Cannot change display settings

's Computer Specifications

I recently bought a Dell 2400 without a monitor. I use an older Compaq
monitor. I cannot change the display setting. I go to display
properties/settings/ advanced/ monitor. The properties button is blanked out.
What can I do?

Display Settings is different than Monitor Settings. Install the driver for
your monitor.
