Cannot change attributes in WinXP

--logged in as Administrator
--simple file sharing is off

I used Backup (in Windows) to restore some files when I installed a new PC;
however, I don't need the folder they are in and want to delete these copies.
But I am told "Access is denied" when I try any action (move, copy, modify
from R to -R, etc.)

I ask for some help!@!! Don't know what else to do
