Cannot burn cds to audio disc, can play cds and copy to media library but cannot burn cds PLEASE HELP

my computer is 11 months old i have windows xp and media player 9 i could burn cds up unitl about i month ago i have tried everything i installed new burning software from download .com and still cannot burn a audio cd. i am so confused as to why before i could burn cds now i cannot i cannot even burn a cd in media player PLEASE HELP! someone,anyone?
