Hi,
I am too facing the same issue with ntbackup when attempting to backup
the system state and wondered if you had any feed-back on this issue
......
All I have noticed is that nt backup crashes all the time while backing
up a driver called sbp2port.sys....I have search lots of forums for
infos but could not find relevant infos about this problem ...also
tried to re-intall ntbackup.msi but did not resolve the issue

I would recommend you look for a different backup solution from ntbackup.
It is an old, legacy app ported from NT, geared toward tape drives and hard
drives. There are other, much better and more reliable backup solutions. I
recommend using a drive imaging program such as Acronis True Image and
saving the compressed images on external media such as a USB hard drive.

Never had such a problem here; are you sure that Shadow Copy is enabled?

Even if it isn't, it should only result in an error message though, not a
crash.

If you look for something better, the imaging programs are the best.
Acronis, Ghost, BootitNG; all 3 are good.
