Cannot alter read-only status of favorites

Hello,

I have just clean reinstalled XP. Before doing so, I backed up all my
Internet Explorer favorites to a USB hard-disc. Unfortunately these
favorites are locked read-only, and I can't change this attribute. I have
tried changing the attribute in the file properties, but this does not work.
I have also tried the attrib -r command but this does not work either.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

I made all the favorites on my old Vista installation, and so maybe the
problem is linked to UAC on Vista?
