Hmm... for some reason I cannot add OL2003 to the windows learch 4.0.

I had same problem in my other computer also (with imap client) and I found
somewhere from the internet one registry fix which solved that. Now it seems
very difficult to find it again...

Anybody could help?

What do you mean with "cannot add"?
Outlook doesn't show up as a location to be indexed at all?
Which version of Windows are you using?

This same thing happened me with two different combination...

In m work: OL2007, XP and only IMAP-mails
In my home: OL2003, XP and Exchange

And I solved this problem in my work to change one registry key... cannot
remember that anymore...

And... in the settings menu of wds 4.0 shows only documents & settings +
Outlook Express... OL2003 is not possible to add... and this same thing was
in my work combination also...

I just tried to repro this on a clean Windows XP machine with Office 2003.
Outlook did not show up initially for me either. When I had Outlook open and
went to the Indexing Options in Control Panel, then Outlook showed up.

There should not be any manual registry tweaking needed. However, see if the
following keys exist for you;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Desktop
Search\DS\Views\Locations\Outlook
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\Search.OutlookToolbar
