I cannot activate word.

everytime i enter the production code, it just opens as a viewer kind of
thing. i cannot edit my file. and i have a report due on monday, so i NEED it
work by tonight!

Without any more details, I can only guess at a few possibilities.
1. You only get one trial version. Once it expires, it's time to pay for it.
2. You're entering the wrong product key.

I would suggest downloading Open Office and see if that will get you to the
point where you can complete your assignment. You know, of course, that
waiting until the last minute to finish up an assignment is asking for
problems, right?

well, i donot know that which one my dad got, but it's not the first time
this kind of things has happened

So you're PO'd but it could be that you're trying to use an expired version
of Office. That means you should be PO'd at your dad for not giving you
adequate information and yourself for waiting too late to do your homework.
Sucks when it's your own fault, huh?

We have Vista on three computers here at home. It's fine. And it appears
that your *trial* software has expired. If you needed Office, you should
have told your dad to make sure it was either included in the price or
purchased a retail version.
