Cannot access the Windows Management Instrumentation software.

Everytime I run the System Information tool I get the error "Can't Collect
Information" "Cannot access the Windows Management Instrumentation software"

I have tried all the known tricks when this problem cropped up in XP such as
renaming the repository and making sure all 3 services are running.

I have seen this to be an issue when some registry key permissions are
modified. Recently I had to apply permissions to my whole HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
to make administrators and system full control to resolve the issue with all
office applications running configuration everytime they are launched. So it
is possible I did something. But I would much rather Office run correctly
than System Information.

Any help would be appreciated. I hope MS gets some fixes out for all of
these issues so we don't have to keep monkeying around trying to fix them.
