I have just added a Vista PC to my home network.,

I have changed some folders including the Documents folder on the
Vista system to enable file sharing and allowed everyone full control
(via advanced sharing/share permissions).

When I go the Vista system from either of the 2 XP Pro systems I can
see all the folders I have selected to share.

But when I try to open them I get the message

\\Main\Documents is not accessible You might not have permission to
use this network resource etc..... It is the same for all folders I
chose to share.

I can't see anything I have missed.

I never had this problem on XP.

Any help appreciated.

Have a read of the above link.

Make sure workgroups on all comps are the same.

In vista Network and Sharing:
1. you have set network to private: correct.
2. file sharing: on.
3. public folder(XP's Shared docs!) sharing: on
4. network discovery: on.
5. password protected: off(personal choice that works for me). Otherwise you
are asked for a password when you try and access Visat fromXP

In XP machines, also run the Network file sharing wizard again, when all are
turned on, and in the network.
