I serve a small website for a local car club. One member
(unfortunately the VP) cannot access the website from his home
computer with either IE or Firefox using either the www DNS address
or
by directly typing the website's IP address. He can access the site
if
he logs on thru an anonymous proxy server site.

I have checked firewalls on both ends for blocking (none), scanned
with Spybot S&D (OK), insured the HOSTS file does not contain bad
data
(that wouldn't affect the IP address failure, tho) and flushed the
DNS
cache.

I'm out of options. No other users have ever had any difficulty.
I called the ISP and they say nothing is blocked. The same ISP
handles
both the website and the offending computer.

All ideas are welcome, I'm a bit desperate!

The car club is an MG site: www.mbmgcc.org (I figure a few extra hits
won't hurt anything, if it helps to solve the issue).

Are other users on the same ISP able to access the site? If you run a
traceroute to the site from the PC in question (and visa versa)..and
compare to a traceroute from a working location are there similarities?
Can you telnet to TCP:80 from the PC that doesn't work to the
webserver, if so do you receive any http header rubbish back etc etc
etc....?

Thanks Mr. G.

The server is on the same ISP as the VP (inaccessible computer). Many
others on the ISP have no problem. Since the error is "website not
found" or "not available" I don't think I can run a tracer route from
the offending computer to the server. I do have the VPs IP address,
is it possible to route from the server IP to the (attempted) user?
Haven't tried a TCP:80 test. Can you tell me more about the process
and I will dotthat Friday AM when I go over to try to fix him (again)
