I have a Windows XP desktop that is mapped to a Windows 2003 Server Std that
loses shared folder/file access. When I explore my computer I see the mapped
network drive in the list but cannot access the folder/files until I click on
the mapped network drive letter associated to the folder/files. After the
folder/files are displayed I regain access. Any ideas on what is causing this?

Well there is the question. Is it possible this is a security question? Is
it possible that the security setup is faulty and that is why the share
fails? And by the way, the software is setup in Access and shares the
database info.

I have tried posting to XP sites. Have not received a fix as yet. I just was
wondering if this might possibly be an Access security problem. I am just
trying to resolve the problem(s) I am experiencing. Thank you for your
suggestion.
