Cannot access resources on XP Machine from other PCs on network

I have an XP SP2 machine. It has its shares set accordingly. Yet I cannot access
the hard disk nor print to the printer on this PC from other computers on the
network.

The other computers are two PCs running Win XP SP2 and SP3 and Vista Home
Premium.

All tell me "access denied" when I try to access them via Windows Explorer and
opening "My Network Places".

Where the the shared drives were mapped network drives on the other PCs the
machines cannot re-connect on login.

This was all working fine. We only discovered that it wasn't working when we
tried to print to the PC's printer and I had to trouble shoot.

The PC in question is running AVG Free Ver. 8. Windows Firewall is NOT active. I
have no other firewall software and AVG free doesn't appear to have firewall
software installed.

The PC in question can access the resources on the other computers.

Any suggestions as to what to look for that could prevent access would be
appreciated.

You write "I have an XP SP2 machine. It has its shares set accordingly".
What exactly does "accordingly" mean?

If you wish to access resources on some other machines then the preferred
method is to synchronise accounts and passwords. In other words: If you log
on as "Jack" on PC1, using a password of "Jane", then you must create a
"Jack" account on PC2, also with a password of "Jane". If you don't do this
then PC2 will treat Jack as a stranger and deny him access to all local
resources such as shares and printers.
