I have three computers in the office that I cannot access drive/file
properties on.
NAS running Win 2000 NAS.
Desktop running Win 2000.
Laptop running Win XP Pro.
All three computers are connected to a domain controler running Win Server
2003 Pro. When I right click on a drive or file or open my computer and click
on the File menu, I get the hour glass that never goes away and the system
become unresponsive. On the laptop, the problem persists whether I am
connect or not connected to the Domain. I also am unable to syncronize
folders.
If I log onto the laptop as the local Administrator, I have no problem
accessing the properties of the files or drives. I have run virus scan,
SpyBot and Adware on all three which has not resolved the problem.
There seems to be a security setting somewhere that is preventing me from
access Properties. I have looked at all the security settings and found
nothing. I don't think it is a currupted file since my laptop works fine in
Adm mode and I don't think it is a virus/spyware for the same reason.
Any suggestions? It acts like the Administrator has simply removed my
access to Properties (I am the Administrator), but where/how?
