Cannot access printing preferences

I just updated from Windows Me to XP and I have updated
my driver for my IJ650 printer. It is all good but i need
some help, I cannot access the printing preferences when
I want to change from regular paper to glossy paper. If
anyone can respond to give me some insight it would be
greatly appreciated. i am not that computer savvi and all
this updating stuff is driving me insane.
