Cannot access my web to publish

This saga has been going on for two weeks with no resolution in sight.
Wonder if anyone here can help.

Here's the story.

I have three domains each with a corresponding website"
www.domain1.org
www.domain2.org

www.domain3.com

1 and 2 are hosted by Company A; 3 is hosted by Company B.

1 and 2 are each 5-6 years old and have no problems.

3 is six months old and had no problems until 3-4 weeks ago. When I tried
to publish, I got two errors:

SERVER ERROR: CLIENT CLOSED CONNECTION

-- or --

SERVER ERROR: an error occurred accessing your FrontPage webfiles. Authors -
if authoring against a webserver, please contact the webmaster for this
server's site. Webmasters please see the server's system log for more
details.

I needed to publish one new article, so, I ftp'ed to the site and the new
article appeared.

A few days later, I tried to publish and got the same two errors. Further,
I could not access the live web on the server; I could only access the web
on my hard drive.

Every time I contacted tech support, they said that they were able to access
the live web with no problem by typing http://domain3.com in the More Webs
box on MS FP. I tried that and got the same two errors.

I left home on vacation for a week and asked that they removed all files
from the server and set me up as a brand-new customer who had never
published before. They did and when I returned home I went to their control
panel, installed FP extensions, and tried to publish. Same two errors.

I am running Windows XP Home Edition and FP 98. Also, I tried to access the
live web from both my desktop and laptop -- same story. Meanwhile, domain1
and domain2 are no problem whatsoever.

What are we missing?

Thanks.

What O/S is the host server, Joe?
Is it a Unix/Linux/Apache with FP 2002 extensions? If so, that version of
extensions for those O/S will not support FP 98.
