I set my PC up to be able to type in Japanese. Not with
any downloads, but by going to 'Control Panel' then
to 'Language and Regional Options'.
After setting it up and op-testing it to make sure
everything was okay, which it was, I shut down it and
went to bed. The next day , I tried to get into
my 'Microsoft Word Processor' saved files and got the
message, "Works cannot open ("File Name"). The file may
not be supported by any of the installed converters, or
the file may be corrupt."
And when trying to open my 'Adobe Acrobat Reader' saved
files, I got the message, "There was an error opening
this document. The file name, directory name, or volume
label syntax is incorrect."
I already got online with AOL on-line supprt, and they
couldn't give me an answer because it didn't pertain to
their software. I also got on the phone with my PC
manufacturer and did as she said to correct the problem,
but neither of her ideas worked.
First, she had me try 'Programs', 'HP (Hewlett Packard)
Tools', then 'HP Application Recovery'. I
recovered 'Adobe', but it didn't straighten out my
problem.
Next, she had me try, 'Programs', 'Accessories', 'System
Tools', 'System Restore', 'Restore my computer to an
earlier time', and then chose an earlier date to restore
my PC settings to when my PC wasn't being a pain in the
ass.
If you have any ideas, I'sd really appreciate it. Thanks.
