Copy and paste the following in your Start menu Run box and then hit
<Enter>:

notepad %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Make sure that www.microsoft.com or microsoft.com is not in the list, if
you find them delete the entry. Leave other "fake" microsoft entries
like www.microsoftantispyware.net or microsoftantispyware.net on the list.

There are some malware infections that specifically block Microsoft.com.
Have you thoroughly checked your system? Have up to date antivirus? I
suggest also running
Malwarebytes http://malwarebytes.org/ and
SUPERAntiSpyware http://www.superantispyware.com/

Checking your host file as the other poster mentioned is worthwhile, and you
may or may not see an erroneous entry for Microsoft.com, but you need to
address the issue of how it got there and the likelihood of ongoing
problems.
