I'm not an expert on this but; **Incorrect Permissions on webroot** is a big clue...contact your host.

| I think I'd try logging on live to
www.3.com you said you can to re-do the
| extensions? try adding a new admin user with new password and see if you can
| publish with new name/password.
|
| Kinda sounds like webhost B's extensions are wrong or hosed by ftping.
|
| What's the URL of webhost B?

| news:(E-Mail Removed)...
| | I have three websites:
| |
www.1.org
| |
www.2.org
| |
www.3.com
| |
| | 1 and 2 are hosted by webhost A; #3 is hosted by webhost B.
| |
| | No problems with 1 and 2.
| |
| | When I established 3, there was no problem -- I made the web in MS FP and
| | published to the host server. Over the next few weeks, I edited articles,
| | changed files, etc., and everything works fine.
| |
| | Now, I can't publish to
www.3.com. I can ftp no problem.
| |
| | This is what happens:
| | -- Open the web on the hard drive.
| | -- Make a new page, modify and existing page, whatever.
| | -- Hit Publish
| | -- The web dialogue box opens and I click on "More Webs" and enter
| |
www.3.com and hit enter.
| | -- Dialogue box opens asking for User ID and password -- I give it the ID
| | and password.
| | -- I get the following error message:
| | "Server error. An error occurred accessing your FrontPage
| | web files. Author: if authoring against a web server, please contact the
| | webmaster for this server's site. Webmasters -- please see the server\'s
| | system log for more details."
| |
| | Try again, enter ID and password. Get the same error. After about 3-4
| | tries, I get a message that says "Error: Client closed connection."
| |
| | I have never been able to access the web on the host server -- accessing
| it
| | on my hard drive is no problem but that's not what I need -- can't
| publish,
| | can't access the live web.
| |
| | I can go to the host server and log into the control panel -- I
| reinstalled
| | FP extensions.
| |
| | I have e-mailed tech support -- which is a useless exercise. They don't
| | have a clue.
| |
| | Before I move everything to the same server as 1 and 2, what does anyone
| | suggest?
| |
| | Thanks.
