New installation of XP Pro into a NT 4.0 server domain. 12
workstations. 3 using XP P & 9 using NT 4 workstation. 2
of the XP Pro workstations do not allow access to IE, 1
system does. All workstations allow access to the local
LAN. The 2 XP P workstations do not allow any IE access,
regardless of user. These 2 workstations were
installations of XP P and then use of the file & settings
transfer wizard.
1 XP P workstation allows IE access for admin and other
users, not for the 2 users of the XP P workstations. This
installation was made without using the file and settings
transfer wizard.
Access to IE is through a NT 4 server with 2 LAN cards. 1
card is dedicated to an Earthlink DSL router, the other
card is to a 16 port switch (local LAN). All workstations
are setup with static IP's (192.168.1.3 - 192.168.1.X) and
use the same gateway of 192.168.1.1. > The IP address of
the server LAN card connected to the switch.
Is there a service or setting that is turned off that
affects the two users and the Admin on the 2 XP P
workstations and just the 2 users on the 1 XP P
workstation?
