Peter I am having the same problem. Did you ever find a
solution.

I found that if I log in as 'Administrator' I can view
the event log but the event log cannot be viewed from any
other adminstrator account. the .evt files are all owned
by the Administators group so I have no idea why I am
getting access denied.

I am having the same problem, anybody know the fix or procedure to correct
