Hi -
This is a weird problem which I can't replicate, and don't understand fully,
but I'll try. We run a single Windows 2000 server which has a mixture of
Win98, Win2000 & WinXP clients. One particular user has problem when using
her WinXP laptop. She logs in like everyone else in the office, but she
occasionally she is prompted with a login dialogue when trying to save
files contained within shares on the Win2000 server that have been opened
earlier in the day. But this is only with certain applications. For
instance, she could be accessing a Word document and having problems saving,
but not an Excel spreadsheet opened in the same folder. Then if she tries
to access the folder in Windows Explorer, it displays a login dialogue. The
other strange thing is that the error when saving is talking about "invalid
character in file", when it is blatantly obvious that it is not.
Any suggestions?
