I am running IE6 on a WindowsXP system. On my home computer I cannot access
the site, although on my office computer (same config and both have
broadband) has no problem. I have tried clearing all cookies, etc., running
in safe mode, and trying to access through the IP address direct. All to no
avail. I also have done in the command prompt a IP DNS clear. The only other
thing to add is that I cannot access the site through Firefox 1.5 either. I
have also tried to access the site through the main Navy site and working
through their link.

Check C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc for a file named HOSTS with no
extension. (Not Hosts.sam)
Make sure Windows is set to show hidden files and folders and is NOT set to
hide extensions for known file types.
If HOSTS exists, rename it to HOSTS.OLD
Reboot an try again.

Or, In a Cmd window, enter
ipconfig /flushdns
then clear your TIF also, and re-boot.

That is one weird wacky issue you got goin' on there pardner...
The same time out happens with IE and Firefox, eh?
When did this start happening?
Did you find just 1 hosts file in C:\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\etc ?
And you renamed it to something like Oldhosts and rebooted.
If there were any other hosts files located in that folder,
best to rename them also and reboot again.
That is the only site with this issue?
Might want to check C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files
and remove any files that have a damaged status or seem suspicious.
I am grasping at straws here, it all sounds pretty weird.

Well if life does not get interesting.................
another soul had me check where the trace specifically stopped. It ended at
a bellsouth server. I contacted ATT/Yahoo (my ISP). After WAY TOO LONG, I
find out that according to ATT, the Blue Angels website has blocked out a
certain range of IP addresses, which includes mine. Once I return to work to
access the site, I'll be able to contact the webmaster and ask if this is
true, and why.

Thanks to all, and off on another
adventure...........................hopefully this does not lead me to
ATT/Yahoo support again. I've used up my patience for the week........
