Everything seems fine apart from not gainingany access to a secure web site - I cannot even get to check my .net password as the built in helper suggests - it just goes off on ageneral google search for something similar.

I had a similar problem. When I tried to enter a SSL domain I was bumped to
the most recent site in my history. I used the add remove function to
uninstall IE 6 and then all was fine. Now the strange thing was I'm still
running 6 , it just seemed to fix the install.
