Hi,

I have several laptops and desktop in my company and they all running
Windows xp Prof sp1 and sp2.

From my machine I want to access the registry from other machines but I
cannot access them. I have found a document on the microsoft KB site to make
a key SecurePipeServers and set the permissions on Winreg but when added this
key's and set the permissions I cannot acces the remote registry.

Even when I want to shutdown a Laptop or desktop acces is denied?? I am a
domain administrator and even when I logon as administrator on my machine I
still cannnot acces the registry and cannot shutdown the machine!

Does someone has I idea to fix this problem?

Kind regards
Marco Badoux

Add your domain account to the local administrators group on the machine in
question.

I have find out that the problem persist on the computer with Windows XP prof
SP2.

I am a domain administrator and domain admin are added to the local
Administators group but I still cannot acces the remote registry or remote
shutdown the computer.

Do you have an other idea?

Thanks for your reply

Is the remote registry service running? This sounds more like a local
security and or group policy issue.
