How do I cancel a private appointment set up in a shared folder?

you delete it and and then you get the opportunity to press the "Send
Cancellation" button - if you are the organizer of the appointment or the
administrator of the shared folder...

The option to delete is grayed out, I can't even open the appointment.

      20th Mar 2007
as i mentioned, you have to be the organizer of the meeting or the admin of
the shared folder.
Find out who created it and access that person's calendar, then delete it
from there or ask your IT personel to give you full access to the shared
folder.
Then it should work

I am the owner of the calendar, and the organizer of the appointment.
