Can you be a bit more specific as to the problem?

Options include closing your email acct, creating rules to delete the
messages you don't want, setting up spam filtering on the mailbox, deleting
them from your providers web access.

when i hit send receiving I start receiving over 2500 incoming emails and it
start to tie up my machine for hours and I have to cancel it. I cannot
receive or send emails as this process starts bback to 1 again everytime Ihit
send receive. No new emails have shown up however as it is always in process.
What do I do please?

do you have web access to your mailbox? if so, go in and delete some or all
of the messages online.
if not, set up the acct in Outlook Express (Mail if using vista) and let it
clear off the server for you.

If the webmail agent doesn't show any e-mails in your account then there
are no e-mails in that account. You have configured Outlook to poll
some other account and that's the one you need to use the webmail agent
to clear out its mailbox.
