W2K Pro can only be upgraded to XP _Pro_.

imo, so if I were you, I'd buy a new hard drive, remove your current drive,
install XP Home on your new drive, install the programs you use, reinstall
your old hard drive as a secondary drive, and either copy over your personal
files, or continue to use them as they exist on your old drive.
