Can you update album information if accessing file from another computer?

I've downloaded a cd and have edited my song tags so that
they are perfect. I have turned off my media player
options to auto-update file properties so that there are
no changes. I now want to share out my directory so that
my sister can access my files from her computer. She
doesn't have this options selected in her media player to
not update media files with missing info etc .... Does
that mean that she can now update my files unknowingly. Or
if she doesn't have write access am I okay?
