Can XP be set so that if the computer is idle for X number of hours it turns
its self off ?

I am aware of the power options but I want the whole system to be turned off
not just the hard drive and monitor. I have data on my computer that I do
not want others to see, for example God forbid I drop dead I want my
computer to turn off after a while so that if anyone turns it back on they
get my password screen.

does anyone have any suggestions??

Set it to hibernate after N minutes. I set mine to 30. And enable "require
password after resume".
