I bought a Logitech wireless keyboard

Now I would like to buy a wireless mouse to use in
conjunction with above keyboard

Will I be OK mixing wireless components like this......
or will they interfere with each other?

I recently bought a $20 Microsoft wireless keyboard. Using speech
now, I hardly use the keyboard. It is smaller and half the weight of
my prior Logitech cordless keyboard (that helps, since I move the
keyboard around a lot). I have Logitech's MX Revolution mouse.

Yes, you can mix and match components, as far as Windows is concerned
you'll be fine (and I wouldn't imagine Linux would have trouble with
multiple keyboards, multiple mice, or mix-matching)

In general the receivers won't talk to anything other then what they're
designed to talk to, most Logitech receivers won't even talk to other
Logitech products, but if you don't mind connecting up multiple
receivers if needed then it's not generally an issue.

Not your case but I thought this might make interesting reading...

I once installed a slew of wireless Logitech mice/keyboards on the
teller counter of a new bank branch. Each unit was set up with its
unique ID so things worked fine.

But it took less than a week for some very bored tellers to start
pushing buttons. Soon, one tellers mouse and keyboard actions were
controlling the actions on adjacent machine which made for one heck of
an interesting problem.

So, can they be used? Absolutely. Just don't be in a bank branch!!!

Part of me wants to have trouble imaging a bank dumb enough to deploy
wireless keyboards, not out worry over interference, but rather, there
are valid security concerns.

The rest of me lives in reality, where bank security is as much theatre
as the TSA.

receiver

Your original question was simpler. The answer is "do not worry
about it".

With respect to your new question... You will easily be able to
tell, because the compatibility will be part of marketing.
