how can you get info on prgrams starting

Info on the programs that are starting when windows
start, like msconfig in XP. i need to stop a virus that
is starting when 2000 comes up!

In win2k the command is also msconfig! If it dosent work
the virus must have screwed up your system.

you can also check in the registry.....

start> run > type "regedit" without the "" then press
enter

on the left side expand
Hkey_local_machine>software>microsoft>windows>currentversi
on>run

on the right side you will see the items that are
supposed to start when windows starts but won't tell u
much info.

Just in case u r not familiar with registry editing, I
advise that you be very careful here as it will cause
your system to crash if something is wrongly edited or
deleted.

No. Msconfig.exe was NOT included in Win2K. Many users have reported that
the WinXP version works fine in Win2K. Others have said the WinME version
works, too, with some peculiarities.

Mike, if you post the name of the virus, someone here will probably
recognize it and give you some good advice.
