How can you delete an Outlook Meeting Notice going forward only?

Is it possible to retain the past information (say this meeting happened 6
times and was then cancelled or changed in some substantive manner)?

What if you open the appointment item, tell it you want to open the series,
then click the Recurrance button and set an end date that corresponds to the
last appointment item you want to keep?
