I would like to set up my outlook to automatically insert the date into the
subject line every time I create a new message that requires it because this
is the initial criteria that they are e-filed by.

I know you can set a template for the subject line with a message button on
the toolbar as I already have one set with 'release-authorised' set. I merely
select the button and a new email appears with the subject line set. I now
require to have a second button set that automatically inserts the current
day's date into it.

You'd need some VBA code for that.
