I have a large amount of photos, several gigs, and I have a Pioneer DVD-R
drive...can XP burn to it using the same method I use now to burn CD-Rs?
Also can it be read on other computers? Or on Macs?

I have all the XP updates.

If not, what is an inexpensive program that will allow burning data discs
for distributing to clients with a DVD drive?

Thanks!

Frank

Windows XP does not have the native capability to burn DVDs.
You'll need to purchase and install a third-party DVD burning
program, such as Nero (http://www.nero.com/us/index.html).

Nero, Roxio, Sonic MyDVD.... 99% ofDVD drives come with one of these
software packages included. Check the box the new DVD drive came in!

Hello

You have to use a 3rd party software such as Nero, Roxio, etc

Yes..I was just hoping there was an easy solution to provide drag and drop
save to a drive letter. The drive did not come with software and I did not
want to purchase a whole software suite of utilities I will never use, just
want to record to DVD.

Does Nero or others offer just a small program for drag and drop drive
letter saves?

Why not check their websites and do some research for yourself. Only you
can decide what you need, how much you want to spend etc.
