Can Word 2003 have a template information box appear in a letter?

The firm used Word Perfect and had a template information box appear whenever
typing a letter to add date, address, e-mail address, etc. Does Word 2003
have something similar because everyone is not familiar with merge, fields
or even Word for that matter.

In Word '03 if you go to Tools-> Letters and Mailing->Letter Wizard that
maybe what you are looking for.

It may be that your old WordPerfect templates used something similar to
Word's ASK and FILLIN fields or perhaps an analog to Word's VBA macros.
