Hello,

Can one use Windows Explorer to copy files to DVD or do you have to have
special software?

WinXP comes with the capability to burn CDs, but not DVDs. You'll need
some kind of third-party software to do that.

While Windows XP is able to write to a CD, it does not have the
ability to write to a DVD. You would need a third party
program. Here's a free one.

CDBurnerXPPro

Good luck

Just wonder, I got Roxio Creator installed and it can burn data files into
CD but seems not DVD.
I mean burn data files not create movie DVD, like Nero can burn files onto
DVD.
I am looking through the Roxio forum at the same time to see if I can find
the answer.

As long as the following is true:

1) DVD writer drive is installed
2) Roxio software installedm either "bundled" version with DVD writer
drive or "full" retail version

You are "supposed" to be able to burn to DVD drives.

I'm not familiar with Roxio Creator, but a quick check on their
web site would seem to indicate that it is capable of writing
DVDs. Keep in mind that you also need a DVD burner. Make sure
your drive says DVD R/RW on the front.

Good luck
