I have installed unbuntu on vmware, virtualbox and virtual pc, all
pretty much the same process. Mount the live cd in the virtual machine
settings and install from it. Just a quick google seemed to indicate
that the vm additions are available for linux distros now too,
although I haven't installed them before.
