I have just migrated from Thunderbird to MS Outlook 2003 as it was a
corporate policy. I now want to have a view in which I can see my mails and
also have a side pane which will show me the tasks and Active Calendering
events. All in a single snapshot.

Upgrade to Outlook 2007? Otherwise, you need to right click on the calendar
folder and choose open in new window.
