Can I use a laptop with WIFI and ICS as a wireless bridge?

Here is my problem:
I bought a D-Link video-conferencing appliance (DVC-1000) or something like
that.
I have a cable modem connected to a wireless appliance (router etc) DL-714.
My Win98 laptop connects wirelessly to the DL-714.
I want the video appliance near the TV, but that's far from the DL-714 so a
cable is out of the question.
I know I could buy a wireless bridge (DLink 810), but I'd like to use the
laptop with the ICS instead as a bridge, to save the money.
I installed everything, but it doesn't work... either it's impossible, or I
got IP settings wrong...

Anybody help?

Thanks
