When I return to the System (Windows XP Pro)after it goes
into Energy Saving Mode (Monitor and HardDisk turned off),
the display is "darkish". I then refresh the Colour
Qaulity to either 32bit or 24bit, depending on where I
left it last. This is rather tedious and I don't want to
leave the PC Power Scheme to "never".

My Video Card is ATI Rage Pro 3D

Any "bright" ideas?

Leave power saving to the hard disk and leave power saving off on the
display settings. When you are away from the computer turn the screen
off at the switch.
