Hi! :-)

You know how if a user holds the cursor over a filename in Internnet
Explorer and or highlights it with the arrow keys said user sees an info box
appear giving some details about the file? Is there a way to turn that off?
Some may find it useful, but to me it's an obnoxious nuisance that gets in
the way that I'd rather do without.

Generally speaking for XP, look under Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder
Options/View:
Show pop-up description for folder and desktop items.
