How can I transfer all my previous emails to a new computer?

Hi there .. I need help here and if any one can help, that would be great++.

I've removed my internal hard disk from my laptop and replaced it with a new
one so that I could return the laptop to my company as I have resigned. My
old internal hard disk = my new external hard disk.

How can I retrieve and transfer all my old emails/calendars etc from this
external hard disk, if I were to purchase a new laptop? All I see in this
external hard disk are folders, folders and more folders.

What suggestions do you have? I would be most grateful.
