If I want to find a particular folder (not file) then can TrackerV3
search by that folder name?

I omitted to say that I didn't want to use TrackerV3 to also search
filenames. I want it to search only folder names.

Is this possible?

Under the "Attributes" tab, check "Directory." Results show only the
folders matching the "name" pattern.

Thank you.

I honestly dont think I would have found that by toying with the
application.

Tracker is one of those programs that you are always finding something new.
Can anyone help with the problem I have with it?

In Windows Explorer I can highlite and click several files to open them
simultaneously in IE6, or Notetab, or Editpad etc. If I do this in Tracker
only one of the files opens. Is it possible to configure Tracker to allow
multiple files to be opened?

Hi Frank,

it's not a matter of configuration but one of usage: when several files are
highlighted and one of them has the focus (the dotted line):

(a) press <Enter> to open just the focused file
(b) use the open command in the context menu to open all selected files
simultaneously

Hard to remember? Here's a tip: the standard context menu commands come from
the shell and work exactly the same within every application. Whereas
keydown events are typically handled very app-specific.

cheers,
Donald

You're welcome. I don't use Tracker very much, but when I need to
meet a VERY specific search criteria, AND be able to view some file
contents AND also need windows explorer functions, Tracker is hard to
beat.
